Saturday rehearsals are from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the studio at the Mexican Heritage Plaza. To get the most updated schedule for rehearsals please contact maestro Arturo Magana on whatsApp. Colibri also has a membership fee of 35$ a month.
Practice materials are not provided to dancers. Colibris will need a skirt, folclorico shoes (zapatillas or botines), black top and bottoms, a practice rebozo, and paliacate.
Shows and Scheduling
Though Colibri performs year round, the busiest times of year for us begin in March with the Danzantes Unidos Festival. Performance requests pick up again with the beginning of Pride Season (June to the end of Summer) . After the bulk of Pride performances we move to our Hispanic Heritage and Muertos season where we set our shows for Dia De Muertos and Hispanic Heritage Month. We usually finish our year with a Christmas in the Park performance and New Years Celebrations.
Colibris will be expected to have a white dress shirt for masculine presenting people, and white peasant blouses for feminine presenting people. Boot roles also require black dress pants. Skirt roles require the official Colibri fondo. State specific costumes will be provided by Colibri, with the exception of white and black dress pants. A makeup tutorial will be provided for those who wear makeup.
